The minimum eligibility criteria is the member should at least be a clerical grade employee and must have completed 10th standard. An individual not working with a bank could take up this course under the name “Diploma in Banking and Finance”.
The JAIIB/DBF exams are conducted twice a year, during the period of May/June and November/December. Exam is conducted in both online and offline mode and a candidate can also opt to write the examination in Hindi or English.

JAIIB course consists of 3 subjects
1. Principles and practices of banking
2. Accounting and finance for bankers
3. Legal and regulatory environment for bankers
The examination for all these 3 subjects would consist of multiple choice questions with few questions that are case study based. 120 questions need to be answered in duration of 2 hours. Each paper carries 100 marks. Generally the examination is conducted on three consecutive Sundays.
To clear JAIIB certification, a candidate should get a minimum score of 50 marks in any subject. A candidate scoring 45 marks in any one of the subjects but has a score of 50% in all the 3 subjects would clear the exam.
A candidate must enroll with IIBF first to get the membership and simultaneously register for the examination. Once registered for JAIIB course, a candidate would get 2 shots for taking the examination. Once registered, the candidate has to handle the course materials by herself.
